About Ms. Olds
Ms. Kristen Olds
I am an Arizona native, born and raised in Mesa. Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember (I'm pretty sure I could read the notes on the staff before I could read words!) I was a die hard band kid from 5th grade through college playing clarinet, tuba, and everything in between and I still play when I have a chance. I have been singing in choirs ever since 9th grade and continue to sing in the Community Choir at Phoenix College.
I have a Bachelors in Music Education from Northern Arizona University and a Masters in Music from Arizona State University, both with an emphasis in choral music. Throughout my fifteen years of teaching I have served in various leadership roles for the Arizona Music Educators Association and Arizona Choral Educators, and Arizona Kodaly Teachers Society; currently I am President Elect for the Arizona Music Educators.
In my spare time I like to roller skate and do various crafts (primarily crochet or cross-stitch), and hang out with my partner, Thad, and our 2 cats.
Qualifications: Bachelors in Music Education; Masters in Music Education; Arizona Standard Teaching Certificate: K-12 Music Endorsement, SEI Endorsement
