About the teacher
Hi! My name is Kristy Carey, and this is my first year at O’Connor. I’ve been a special education teacher since 2001 and have taught at two other DVUSD schools, as well as in another district in the valley. I’m originally from Illinois, but have lived in AZ since 1999. My husband and I have 2 daughters and 3 dogs. Our youngest daughter graduated from O’Connor in May! I love the St. Louis Cardinals, Dbacks, and Phoenix Suns.
I’m so excited to get to know new students, as well as see some familiar faces from previous years!
*Email is the best way to get in touch with me.*
Mrs. Carey's Classroom Expectations/Rules:
1. Be kind, polite, and courteous to others.
2. Be respectful of classmates, teachers, and property.
3. Don't expect others to clean up your messes/area.
4. Always do YOUR best, no matter what your best looks like!
5. Have fun!
CLASS MOTTO:
It's OK to not know, but it's not OK to not try!

About the teacher
Welcome! My name is Denise Hsu, and I’m thrilled to be part of the Sandra Day O’Connor community. I have experience in both general and special education. I hold a Master’s Degree in Special Education and endorsements in ELA and Health.
My teaching philosophy centers around creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to grow
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy listening to Podcasts, reading and working out, but spending time with my family and friends is a favorite of mine. I'm looking forward to a fantastic school year filled with growth, discovery, and fun!

About the teacher
My name is Mrs. Quinlan. This is my third year at O’Connor High School, and I truly enjoy the positive and supportive community we have here. I graduated from GCU and have a duel degree in Elementary Education and Special Education.
A little about me—I've been happily married for quite some time and am a proud mom to four amazing kids: two teenagers, a toddler, and a newborn. Life is busy, but full of joy!
I believe every student deserves a safe, respectful, and encouraging learning environment. My door is always open. I’m here to support you every step of the way!
