Mr. Baumgartner has been a health teacher and PE coach at Sandra Day O'Connor since it was built 22 years ago.  Mr. Baumgartner is the PE department chair and head baseball coach here on campus.  Born and raised in Oregon, Mr. Baumgartner moved to Arizona 24 years ago, is married to his wife Darlene (principal at Sonoran Foothills) and together they have a son Billy Bob (15) and daughter Haley (13).

Welcome to Health class at Sandra Day O'Connor High School!

Mrs. Calderon has been a Health & Physical Education teacher for 20 years and has taught grades K-12.  

She is originally from Virginia and went to Virginia Commonwealth University.  She has lived in Arizona for 16 years with her husband and 2 daughters and 2 dogs.

This is my fourth year at Sandra Day O'Connor and my eighth year teaching. I am excited to be apart of the O'Connor staff and culture. I gradutated from Barry Goldwater in 2003. I obtained a duel major in elementary education and special education from GCU in 2013. My wife Britney and I have been married for 12 years and have two children, Alice is 5, and Berkley is 2. Ms. Stephanie Lord has been a mentor of mine!

I have been at O'Connor since it's opening in 2002.  I have worked in the Special Education Department and currently am teaching in the Physical Education Department.  I am the Head Softball Coach at O'Connor.

I am thrilled to be a part of such an amazing school and education. I truly love helping students succeed and strive  to be their best! I strive for each student to succeed not only in class but to help them prepare real life choices they can carry throughout their lives. It is important to build student-teacher relationship to help the students feel welcome and confident in my classes.  

My background is growing up in Illinois, tri-athlete in HS, graduating from EIU in Bachelor of Science. I have lived in AZ for 19 years. I have two beautiful children who both graduated from O'Connor.  I have taught HS Physical Education for 18 years and feel so honored to have taught these amazing students to reach their personal goals. I've been blessed to have coached many years but my favorite sport to coach is Beach and Club Indoor Volleyball and help athletes achieve their goals!  I am also the Varsity Beach Volleyball coach that I was very privileged to start 8 years ago.  Our Varsity team won their second straight State Championship title this for 2023 season and have several committed to play at the next level in college.   With this sport growing at a rapid pace, we are building a strong program to represent our school, state and nation.
