For three years, I worked at The Bear Creek School in Redmond, WA where I taught AP Statistics, Geometry, and Algebra 3-4.
I have worked at Sandra Day O'Connor HS for the past seven years, teaching AP Statistics and Honors Geometry. I have also taught Algebra 3-4 Honors and Pre-Calculus Honors for the Deer Valley Online Learning Program (now Aspire). In addition, I teach Middle & High School Competitive Mathematics with the Johns Hopkins CTY program.

About the teacher
I teach math at Sandra Day O'Connor. This year I have the priviledge of teaching college Algebra. In my College Algebra classes I have an amazing Co-Teacher named Mrs. Lord. We at O'Connor have pushed into the 21st centry going almost paperless. Both of my courses will have their homework in canvas. All of my notes will be uploaded to canvas for easy access to stay caught up in class or just look over what I have written in class that day. Items to purchase for my class are just the basics. Notebook for notes, pencil for taking notes, and any of the TI-83 or greater graphing calculator. I hope we have a great year together! |

About the teacher
Hello, I am as native to the Valley as they come (born, raised, high school, college and graduate school). I earned my undergraduate degree in journalism and mass communication from ASU and worked for the state for many years. Some time in 2012, while also personal training part time, I decided to return to school to secure the necessary math credits in order to work toward earning my master's degree in secondary education to become a high school math teacher. A few years later, here I am, tremendously excited to start my second career teaching the exceptional students at Sandra Day O'Connor High School. When I'm not at school, I can usually be found out training my run, bike or swim and even occasionally brushing the dust off my guitar or drums.

About the teacher
My name is Amy Hoffman, and I'm excited about teaching high school geometry this year. I have spent the past 3 years teaching middle school math, and 15 more years teaching various grades and subject areas.
I grew up in the Chicagoland area as the youngest of three children. I attended Northern Illinois University for my undergraduate degree and my graduate degree at National Louis University. I started teaching for 10 years in Illinois before my husband and I moved our family to Arizona 8 years ago.
Outside of school, I am a wife & mom of three girls. My oldest daughter is pursuing her degree in exercise science and is working toward a physical therapy degree. My second daughter is attending Boulder Creek for her senior year of high school, and my youngest is just starting her high school career at AAEC. I love to share my house with a small zoo of animals including my two boxer pups, a bearded dragon, geckos, fish, and frogs. As you can see, we enjoy our pets, but we also love to play games, go shopping, hiking, bike riding, and just get as much family time as possible.
